Optometrist

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optometrist to join our team. This is a part-time on-site role for an Optometrist at Optical Arts Inc. located in Staten Island, NY. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye and vision care, including performing eye exams, diagnosing and treating visual impairments and ocular diseases, prescribing corrective lenses, and providing patient education and counseling on eye health and proper eye care. Responsibilities: - Perform comprehensive eye examinations including visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health assessment - Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases - Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision aids - Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care - Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations - Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry practices and technologies Qualifications: - Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school - Valid state license to practice optometry - Strong knowledge of optical principles, anatomy, and medical terminology - Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols - Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics and seniors - Proficiency in medical coding for accurate billing and insurance claims - Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to patients - Experience with electronic health record systems (not required but appreciated) If you are a passionate Optometrist dedicated to providing exceptional eye care services, we encourage you to apply.
