We are looking for:
A GovCon Cost Accountant or Business Advisor – GovCon as we call the role at Richtr - has experience with government contract and grant accounting. The role will involve accounting, compliance, and contract management for our clients with GovCon and cost accounting requirements. Working knowledge of relevant GAAP, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) are important. Success in this role requires a great communicator and collaborator, as you will be working as a team with your colleagues to prepare and present information to clients.
What a typical day might be like:
The position involves a variety of rewarding elements that you will surely appreciate if you are the type of person that enjoys collaborating with clients and our team to address technical cost accounting work with a focus on Government Contracts, Grants, FARs. and CAS requirements. You will be helping business owners pragmatically address their GovCon matters, and collaborate with our team to problem solve and ensure outstanding client experience. You will also have the opportunity to utilize your expertise with GovCon accounting to keep their contracts and grants in compliance and audit ready.
Your typical day may include the following tasks:
Close client books - monthly, quarterly, and annually
Reconciling non-cash accounts
Financial statement preparation and variance analysis
Project management of new client onboarding
Ongoing client and team collaboration
Proactive communication - especially with new clients
Updates of SaaS app transactions, syncs, and exceptions
Supporting equity events and stock grant activities
Ensuring issues are promptly addressed and key matters kept up to date
Ensuring clients are audit ready with their government contracts or government grants (DCAA Audit Ready, FAR, CAS, GAAP compliant, etc.)
Ongoing and proactive client collaboration and communication - especially with new clients
Implementing and addressing project and job costing needs
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Strategic Planning

This job might be for you if:
You have a solid foundation in Government Contract Accounting & Compliance
You have 2+ years of relevant government contract accounting experience
You have expertise with DCAA, DoD, FAR regulations
You are comfortable establishing project and job costing frameworks
Unanet, Deltek, or similar ERP software experience is a plus
You are an excellent communicator and understand that includes being a good listener

You are professional and organized and help others achieve the same
You take good notes when needed and ask questions when something is not clear
You are good at keeping a schedule and have good methods to help you manage priorities and deadlines

You are detail oriented and proofread things that you write or type to make sure they are accurate
You get things done and you take pride in doing things right
