Manufacturing Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety policies to ensure a safe workplace at our Chicago operations. Works closely with Corporate Safety Manager to align processes with corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, communicate, and implement safety rules and procedures.
• Issue and maintain OSHA & BWC reports.
• Monitor compliance and intervene in unsafe activities.
• Evaluate and manage safety-related incidents.
• Conduct safety committee meetings and monthly safety walks.
• Organize and conduct employee training sessions.
• Facilitate inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Oversee environmental policies and EPA record keeping.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Coordinate annual facility audits for third-party vendors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• 2+ years’ experience in safety role in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong communication skills.
• Leadership, reliability, and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Long periods of sitting or standing.
• Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and walk.
