The Opportunity
The Controller/Accounting Manager, the highest-level accounting position in the firm, is responsible for reconciliation of general ledger accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets records, banking and cash management. The Controller maintains accuracy of accounts for client funds that are held in a trust.

Other Responsibilities of the Controller
Ability to create and maintain a cash forecast
Implementation and maintenance of internal controls
Prepare annual property tax rendition
Maintain accuracy of accounting system of record
Process semimonthly payments to contract attorneys
Responsible for monthly and annual financial close
Development of monthly financial statements, with income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow and other supporting documentation
Prepare financial analysis and special reports as required
Maintain bank relationships and submit reports required by loan covenants
Manage the firm’s credit cards and online payment applications
Assist with payroll as needed
Review quarterly payroll tax returns prepared by payroll processor
Prepare shareholders’/partners’ equity analysis
Prepare shareholders’/partners’ year-end compensation and tax analysis
Ensure compliance with year-end reporting for W-2s, 1099s, 1095s, and year-end documents as required
Compile data required for tax return preparation by outside CPA firm
Supervise Accounting Coordinator
Who You Are?
- You are an accounting expert who adheres to GAAP standards.
- You demonstrate strong software skills, including Excel and other applications.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 10+ years of accounting managerial experience.
- You possess a strong sense of urgency regarding meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
- You are independent and self-motivated.
- You perform your job duties with high integrity and ethical standards.
- You have a positive and professional demeanor.
- You are a leader—one who possesses supervisory experience.
