Summary of Position
Executes the shipping function, as it relates to requisite paperwork, package preparation, and logistics associated with routing packages to appropriate carriers and timeframes.
Essential Job Requirements (MINIMUM):
· Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
· Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
· Uses knowledge of shipping procedures and routes.
· Ensures accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments to include, but not limited to, test reports, material certifications, C of C, etc.
· Inspects and counts material/parts set for shipments.
· Compiles records of unfilled orders.
· Posts weight and shipping charges.
· Prepares bills of lading.
· Ability to verify inventory accuracy in the function of placing parts/materials into Finished Goods inventory.
· Use of ESI2000.
· Ability to track all work performed and record in manufacturing order (M.O.) as required.
· Supplies support to other areas within the department, as necessary or required.
· Other duties as required or necessary beyond this scope.
Responsible for conforming to the company’s quality system procedures as documented.
Preforms other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High School or GED required. Technical training in inventory functions, or office administration training preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years experience in an inventory-based position, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Knowledge of shipping carriers, and experience in the inventory function of a manufacturing environment preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to problems in a real time environment.
· Proficient using PC and software applications, i.e., MS Windows, MS Access, MS Excel, Internet, and menu driven programs.
· Ability to maintain records and filing system.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Interpersonal/human relations skills
· Basic math skills with ability to use a calculator.
· Attention to detail.
· Sense of Urgency.
· Ability to work within a team environment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Ability to speak clearly, read, write and receive verbal instructions.
