ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE: 

This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fundraising Consultant to join our team. The consultant will be responsible for securing corporate sponsorships, procuring auction items, and securing grants to support our organization's mission and fundraising goals.

Responsibilities:

Corporate Sponsorships:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential corporate sponsors.
  • Develop and execute sponsorship packages and proposals.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements to secure financial support.
  • Maintain relationships with existing sponsors and ensure fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
  • Meet or exceed sponsorship revenue targets.

Auction Items:

  • Source and secure high-value auction items for fundraising events.
  • Coordinate with donors and vendors to obtain auction items.
  • Create attractive auction packages and displays.
  • Manage auction logistics and ensure successful bidding experiences.

Grants:

  • Research grant opportunities and eligibility criteria.
  • Develop grant proposals and applications.
  • Submit grant applications and follow up on progress.
  • Maintain grant records and reporting requirements.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with corporate partners, donors, and grantors.
  • Communicate effectively to engage stakeholders and convey our organization's impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.

Fundraising Strategy:

  • Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies and plans.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing fundraising efforts.
  • Monitor fundraising trends and best practices to enhance effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on corporate sponsorships, auction items procurement, and grants.
  • Proven track record of securing sponsorships, auction items, and grants.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques, trends, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and G Suite applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides).

Expected Outcomes:

  • Secure corporate sponsorships totaling $50,000 for the annual gala.
  • Secure corporate sponsorships totaling $30,000 for the fall fundraiser event.
  • Procure auction items raising a minimum of $10,000.
  • Solicit and nurture individual donors with an annual goal of $50,000.
  • Submit at least two grant applications per month.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Executive Director on donor and sponsor solicitation progress.

Physical Demands:

  • Must meet essential requirements with or without accommodation.

Work Environment:

  • Remote work during business hours, with occasional evening/Saturday meetings and travel.
  • Part-time position up to 29 hours per week.

Additional Information:

This is a contract-based consultancy position with flexible hours. The consultant will work closely with the executive director and board of directors and report to the Executive Director.

Travel may be required for donor meetings, events, and grant-related activities.
