The Training Partner is responsible for supporting the creation and execution of all field training programs and practices for Peet’s coffeebars and AFH (Away from Home). They play a critical supportive role in creating and implementing training programs that enable Peet’s coffeebar employees to deliver the highest quality products and create a culture of learning and development within the coffeebars.

  • Assessing compliance and skill gaps and translating into relevant learning for our retail employees

  • Collecting field feedback in order to streamline, improve and simplify the training process

  • Leveraging and improving key people metrics in the employee life cycle

  • Building training to develop the skills and knowledge of our coffeebar employees in all areas

  • Building content that aligns coffeebar employees to Peet’s values

  • Supporting communication, delivery and training of all retail operational goals into clear and understandable objectives for our coffeebars
     

What You Will Do

Retail Training
 

  • Training Development and Maintenance: Developing and maintaining content to support the annual training implementation plan.

  • Content Creation: Owns a key role in the creation of positional training content for Store Managers, Shift Leads, and Baristas. Creates engaging and effective learning materials, including workshops, eLearning modules, training manuals, job aids, and reference guides. Ensures content is up-to-date, relevant, and accessible to all Retail Field employees.

  • Instructional Design: Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive training programs aligned with organizational objectives and employee development needs. This includes onboarding programs, skill enhancement workshops, technology training, leadership development initiatives, and compliance training.

  • Training Analysis: Measures effectiveness of training tools, programs, and initiatives, adjusting as necessary and reporting back quarterly.

  • LMS Administration: Stewards the success of our retail LMS platform, Workday Learning design and content.

  • Reporting and Metrics: Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits and identifies themes trends to improve customer and employee experience. Track and report monthly and quarterly.


 

Retail Development
 

  • Supporting retail development initiatives and programs.

  • Partnering with Retail Field Support maintain service delivery tools for the field.

  • Supporting the training team to ensure Certified Training Stores (CTS) are equipped to deliver results while maintaining stable and supportive training environments.

  • Maintaining and driving continuous improvement of training and store immersion plans for all leaders in the field.

  • Supporting and assisting in the implementation of role changes for the field when applicable.

  • Implementation of new service delivery programs

  • Other projects and duties as assigned
     

Who you Are
 

  • Must reside within a commutable distance (~ less than 50 miles) to Peet’s corporate headquarters (Emeryville, California).

  • Able to travel up to 40% of the time.

  • Familiar with Workday Learning (LMS)

  • Instructional design experience or training background preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field or equivalent training in adult learning courses.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in training and development management (essential).

  • Industry/Retail coffee experience (preferred).

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Track record of supporting successful training programs and ability to share work product and impact/ROI

  • Critical thinker with proven ability to make quality decisions innovative problem-solving skills.

  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office, Workday Learning, Articulate Rise, and related business and communication tools.

  • Familiar with traditional and modern training processes and systems.

  • Willingness to continue personal and professional development. ATD Membership a plus.

  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.

  • Proven team player

At Peet’s we hire the best people and are committed to supporting our employees and rewarding them for their work. The target annual base salary range for this position is $76,000 - 90,000 annually. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
