Retail General Manager

YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a retail general manager to oversee all seven stores and help us grow to 10+ stores! You will help develop store manager talent, maximize sales at all stores, oversee all business operations including inventory, and ensure seasonal transitions are smooth and efficient. You must be very experienced in retail (10+ years minimum) leading teams of people who provide great customer service, manage operations smoothly, drive sales success, and manage store talent. The ideal candidate is someone with a great track record, high energy, a knack for business development, and the attitude to help make our stores great places to shop and great places to work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee day to day operations of all stores

• Partner with CFO, Creative Director, and President to manage financial plans, budgets, and costs for each store

• Staying abreast of new industry technologies, retail trends, and best practices to continuously improve store operations

• Drive sales through business acumen

• Monitor sales performance trends to prior year, budget, etc.

• Analyze store performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and growth opportunities

• Work closely with store managers to develop sales goals for each location, monitor progress toward those goals, and develops strategies to attract and retain customers

• Collaborate with Ownership regarding strategic purchasing decisions

• Report on buying trends, customer needs, profitability, etc.

• Manage Inventory – Oversee cycle counts by store managers, optimize inventory turnover, ensure products are received and entered accurately, and streamline merchandising of products.

• Control labor costs and review on a weekly basis

• Create and Implement policies and procedures

• Recruit, on-board, train, and develop store managers and associates.

• Conduct performance reviews to assess training needs and build career paths

• Prepare written job descriptions that clearly define job roles and responsibilities.

• Develop and implement marketing strategies

• Establish and implement strong internal controls

• Partner with CFO to track performance metrics, refine business processes, and optimize store operations

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven successful experience as a retail manager (5+ years)

• Strong leadership abilities, business acumen, and organizational skills

• Ability to motivate and lead employees, and hold them accountable

• Strong working knowledge of retail operational procedures

• Excellent retail/hospitality customer service experience

• Strong decision-making ability

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills

• Proven success in a high-SKU count, fast product turnover environment

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

• Available to work a variety of hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Open availability preferred, able to work a minimum of 40 hours/week

• Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull, and carry items for a short distance

• Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year plus bonuses and benefits, depending on experience

Job Location: You are expected to regularly work in our stores and can have a permanent office in any of our store locations (Chelan, Ellensburg, Leavenworth, or Wenatchee). Must live in North Central Washington (Chelan, Douglas, or Kittitas counties).
