Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Digital Engineering Infrastructure Architect to work in our Model-based Design department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position
This group oversees and leads the design, and engineering associated with MBSE, CAD, BIM, cloud-based architectures, and simulation for next-generation nuclear energy, renewable energy, and defense systems. You will report to lead of model-based design in the digital engineering department.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide strategic support and technical implementation of the supporting infrastructure behind commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) model-based systems engineering (MBSE) applications, custom data warehouse and digital thread platforms, and INL Digital Engineering Department-developed applications within the model-based design group of the Energy and Environment Science and Technology (EES&T) directorate at INL.
  • Maintain existing infrastructure supporting the department, and consult on the architecture for new products and platforms.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering and 0 - 2 years of experience.
    • OR in lieu of degree, relevant practical experience in the information systems or systems engineering industry and 8-10 years with preferred certifications in ABS, Azure, Google Cloud or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • Experience maintaining software configuration management within an agile development environment using tasking tools such as Jira.
  • Experience building software and cloud architectures using a model-based paradigm, defining interfaces and dependencies, and developing performance requirements and test cases to validate design concepts.
  • Experience in computer programming for automation such as Terraform, batch scripts, containers, and/or C#/Java/Python.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
